After opening performances from The Union Line and The Love Language, both of whom proved their fast-rising hype to be valid, Local Natives played a flawless show. Having never been to the Music Box before I would like to add that it was what I believe to be the perfect sized venue with no sound issues what so ever and had easy access and exit as well as embodied Local Natives’ character architecturally. With exhilarating and intoxicating three-four part harmonies, clattering percussion, tight complex base lines and driving guitar Local Native’s brought a vivacious convivial performance that built through both instrumental and harmonious crescendos ultimately cultivating into an hypnotic uprising that lasted throughout their set. The fast rising pulse emitted by their intricate compositional tracks ran through the busy yet impeccably crafted songs with a strength that overtook the elated audience as well as the 5 members of the band who seemed thrilled to be back home.
