Leaks - Stranger

Thomas Guida is Leaks, the ember-knight of Australia. On March 23rd he’ll release Twelve : Thirty Four. And until then we’ll be the tenants of the roused embers, and watch the embers be more.

Confined to fast in fires, the ashy bits lined his lips. The fires stood tenantless. Bide fires time until a stranger came to snatch. The watch-boy  wasn’t a stranger. His body alleys filled with charring coals.

Albatross - Murder

Insomnia and mid-burn cigarette burns of widowers and window watchers. This sweet burning track comes from Sydney’s Albatross. Life Aquatic Records will be releasing Albatross’ Murder / Casper’s Theme, available for vinyl pre-order here.

With midwinter impulse and mid-burn cigarette burns, impulse had her stay in and window watch the night scatter with red eyed insomnia and ecstatic eyelash ballets. Mirage-gray’s and sex-ridden stairways that mounted into still more shadow, she watched through the windows the stairways of the widowers.

Cabaret Callado - Aimlessly

Aimlessly tip toe my way through streets as the streets made way to my quiet cabaret. Though a valid attempt to live aimlessly, with aim was every step and every song that was quietly strummed. The Brazillian-Australian Cabaret Callado paves way to the too rare ways of distilled lullabies and purified quiet ambition. With full aim, find more of their music here

Evacuate all plans and walk upon the cobblestone grid. With quite eyes the stones watched my feet devise straight lines from their crooked contour. And outline reasoning for why the street which cradled my feet had to be the longest of the streets. I wore sunglasses in the dark because I felt life was sparse, so why be dismayed when you can circumvent and delay. Well it caught me after an enduring game of catch. Finally, I was so patterned from defeat, too full of aim to pretend to dance aimlessly.

Moat In Input - gettinupinthemornin(wip)

There is a ring in my ear, a persistent repetitious hum. It is as if it is watching me, ceremonially. An uneasy enveloping. There is a ring in my ear. The tender flourish of persuasion, revealing layer upon layer with each rhythmic reassembling. Moat In Input is the moniker of the anonymous Australian beat magician. Listen and download here.

Extraneous emotion. I clench. Fists clasp the head of my bed. Light peek through the veils of windows. Staring at me, glaring at my grasp, dancing around my captivity as if it is some erratic ritual. Light bares its teeth over the folds of curtain. Fingers slip from the bed post, deteriorate. The marking of my isolation disintegrates with my touch. Frantic. I hear your hand clasp the doorknob. Twist, slowly your hand clasps me, in a convoluted rupture. The peek of the light ever less a peek than a fixated surveillance. Extraneous encompassing. I blink. In this blink my hand has slipped, muscles sore from desperate hole, in this blink you have arrived. Aimlessly you await me, and I know not why you care so devotedly.

Menagerie - Surround

Photo found by Tyler Andere

Menagerie is the project of Max Hardy, an Australian artist who was introduced to me by Holly of East to West, too an Aussie. According to them their music is, ” A variety of delicate beats to make the gentleman cry realistic tears, rich with dank bass and choral harmonies.” An explanation so suiting when listening to their sounds, to which you can hear more of at their Facebook

Wandering eyes never sure of where to rest. Wandering eyes unsure if or when they can close shall they sleep a solemn slumber, fearful of the inability to watch what is coming, fearful of what that may be. Wandering eyes, open or shut they will never stop watching for they are tremble to the thought of abrupt unforeseen, and quiver at the realization of their reliance the unvarying. Wandering eyes reach for desultory for the thought of constantly seeking what can never be foreseen scares them even more. Surrounded by the echoes of awaiting. The echoes strike. It is as if there is a delicate effervescence surrounding the wandering eyes to which the echoes repeatedly knock the threshold of. Pounding as if past this threshold lay the water of their thirst. Pounding, the wandering eyes are unsure of what they are looking for. Wandering eyes, though never sure of where to rest, it is in the site of expectancy of the unknown that they are able to sanction an awaiting slumber.

Date Rape - Machaevol

The always brilliant Holly of East to West introduced me to the serenely symphonic sounds of Date Rape. Left with an indelible impression, the ambience enraptured my eager ears. The entirety of the Machaevol EP is one you would regret missing. Download it here and do correct me if I’m wrong about the prior.

Infidelity to piety. Sanctity graces the tempest of the night. The rain sanctions austerity of the awakening. We sit in the car as it parades the bare pavement. I stare across the destitute because I cannot bare stare at the sulk of our sustained silence. Toes dig into unkempt carpet as tires meld malicious marks to the rubble. I carve the signature of my claw into the seat, nails numbing the tense. Instinctively you drive home although it is where neither of us wish to go. A destination of the monotonous dreary days. I lift my knees burying my head in my legs; you ask why, it seems it is all you ever do. I search for euphemisms to mask vindication of the invalid but find there are none left to which I have not stripped of meaning. In euphemisms we hide. In euphemisms the children are camouflaged by the shielding superior. In euphemisms we forge shadows of delirium in need of shelter.

Rites Wild - Rites Wild Theme

This track is one of two available for download at the Rites Wild bancamp as part of a soon to be released home-recorded EP by the Australian artist.

Creep composes commonality, accustomed to the insinuated agonize, and travelers of torment, we traverse across taunt. Absent-minded, we are tenuous as we reside amongst the shelter of disquieting homes we all tamper with in a loud oblivious. The cacophony we call commonality has become our eerie commune, converting its consumers when they see no more than normality beneath it. It is the concept that what we conceptualize to be customary is really quite the opposite when you stare closely enough. It is that that haunts us more than what we may perceive on the surface. We are manipulated by it’s mischievous manner to which point it manifests into mankind.

Additionally, it is tumblr tuesday so if you do feel compelled to recommend verb/re/verb for the tumblr directory it’d be much appreciated and you can do so here

COLOURS - I’ve Watched You Suffer

Step forward. Discern the disturb as your foot slaps the sidewalk with an unnerving discord. Satisfaction instigates the swell of a ruthless ecstasy when pavement crumbles beneath the sadistic strut. With each step the remnants succumb to the heavy, with each step they dare not relinquish their hold. As you step forward once again, your step becomes heavier and heavier, the anchor refuses to alleviate, and with it’s lasting embrace you fall. The trail the adversary paved with adversity has won. Enthralling cacophony surrounds the captive, echoing in delight of it’s bitter beguile. Intoxicating in a sedative submission to the seductive swoon of vocals, chasing shadows like double exposure of instrumentation.

This track is available for a free download on the Australian bands bandcamp, and I highly suggest you take a second listen.
