verb/re/verb - A Collection of 2011 (ZINE)

For the finish of 2011, I compiled a zine. I chose 22 songs that have meant the most to me this year - several of which were released this year, some of which further than a decade ago, all of which have made an irrevocable impact on my year as a 16 year old. On the front side of each page of the zine is an image that I composed to represent the song, and on the backside of each page are words to go with it. Just 60 copies of the zine were handcrafted and mailed to people who have similarly made impact on my year - bloggers, musicians, artists. An inexplicable number of hours went into this project and I’d hope for more people to get a piece of the zine than just those who I’ve mailed to. I’d like the project (or at least some fragment of it) to live in the bedrooms, tree-houses, hideaways of everyone who’d like a bit of it. There were 22 visual/literary pieces composed; if you’d like one page of the original zine (with my own blood (?) and sweat on it) I’ll be selling the pages individually for $10. Send me an email if you’d like a page (eloise@verbreverb.com) and I’ll ship it off to your tree-house/blanket fort/hiding place with a note and other goodies. The list can only be found if you have a physical piece of the zine. I hope that this project brings a sense of tangibility to the most digital platform for art consumption, and that the songs that have composed my year can reside someday in yours.

How often do you get something handmade in the mail?

See you in 2012.
